Reputable firms exercise best practices to produce the highest quality talent. The confidence in the agency to represent both client & candidate well is paramount to a successful search process.
An executive search & staffing firm’s reputation is important and largely built on the people within it. The knowledge, experience, credentials & passion of a firm’s leadership drives the organization’s success – developing long-lasting, mutually-beneficial partnerships with its clients, & finding & placing the best candidates. One of the first things both a client & a candidate should look for in selecting a search & staffing firm are track records & credentials within the industry.

DON’T LET THE NEW WAR FOR TALENT KNOCK YOU OUT!
There’s a new war for talent that’s allowing workers with in-demand skills work wherever they want and command a high salary. 10 unacceptable behaviors for the workplace that will get someone FIRED!
As an executive search and staffing firm, rarely do we ever focus on firing people. However, it’s an unfortunate process that is inevitable within the workplace. It’s a tough experience for anyone, but justified when employees are hindering the success of your company. So what exactly does it take for someone to be faced with the loss of a job? Dishonesty, lying on a resume, refusing to follow directions and orders, too much personal stuff at work – are a few valid reasons.
Swap Jobs With Your Receptionist to truly understand your business
Inc. January 2012 – It’s my belief that you can’t truly understand your business unless you’ve experienced it from the ground up. While you may pore over profit-and-loss statements, immerse yourself in the interview process, and personally lead the sales and marketing efforts, you haven’t done a damn thing if you haven’t worked at your reception desk for a full day.
Dealing With Brain Drain:
Sometimes, People Just Have to Move On
Is brain drain inevitable if your company isn’t growing, or is there something more to this than meets the eye?
Sometimes there is an undercurrent of reality that should be acknowledged: people have to move on. And this is the easiest time of year to acknowledge it. It’s the end of the year and one of the top New Year resolutions is about getting a new job. If you aren’t in an ideal situation, it’s even easier to say.
Well, maybe they don’t have to leave. When people leave mentally but stay and take up a seat in your organization, that’s bad as well. But at least they are still there, right? It is not only important to understand where your company is in the morale and engagement department, but to also know what your tolerance is for deadweight employees.

“At the end of the day, it isn’t just about a having a visionary idea or business plan. It’s about employees who bring passion and flawless execution.”
Such is how Kevin Ryan began – and set the tone for – his keynote address, Hirer’s Remorse? Why 80 Percent of Business is Choosing the Right People, at the recent Inc500/5000 Conference & Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Ryan should know a thing or two about what it takes to grow and run a business. He has launched several New York-based businesses, including Gilt Groupe (for which he is the current CEO), Business Insider, ShopWiki, 10gen/MongoDB, and, not least of all, DoubleClick, which he helped grow from a 20-person startup to a worldwide company with over 1,500 employees.
Drawing from his own experience, Ryan discussed the beliefs and practices that have fueled his success as a business leader, the foundation of which, are based on people.
HIRING STRUGGLE PHENOMENON
Behind the highest unemployment levels in more than a quarter century is an unexpected twist: Employers are having a difficult time filling some positions, even as 13.9 million Americans remain without work. The problem is especially acute in pockets such as Washington, D.C., and North Dakota, which bucked the worst of the 18-month recession that ended June 2009, and in industries such as technology where competition for recruits remains high.
The failure to match willing employers with appropriate workers is contributing to a jobless rate that has stalled around 9 percent or higher since April 2009 and is keeping the unemployed on the sidelines for longer. The rate was 9.1 percent in July, when payrolls rose by 117,000 workers after an increase of 46,000 a month earlier, the Labor Department said Aug. 5.
The Key to Getting the Best Selection of Talent
As the economic turnaround begins, is your recruiting strategy aimed at giving you the best talent? Timing your targeted recruiting is the key to getting the best selection of talent. This “pre-turnaround hiring” strategy involves targeted recruiting just prior to competition for talent heating up. It will allow you to elect top talent before everyone else starts pursuing the same people.
Employees Seeking Greener Pastures
Half of the American workforce may soon be bounding for the building exits, What’s Working survey reveals. The survey, conducted by human-resources consultants at Mercer LLC, illustrates just how discontent workers are with their jobs, with half of the 2,400 workers polled expressing unfavorable opinions of their employers.
In addition, one in three workers are seriously considering leaving their current jobs, more than a 20 percent increase in the past six years. Twenty-one percent of employees have already mentally checked out, citing negative views and dissatisfaction.
Results establish nonexistent wage growth and increased workloads as the root of workers’ dissatisfaction, with more than half of those surveyed claiming they’re not happy with their pay rate, followed by issues with career development and performance management.

Labor Shortage Persists in Some Fields
There are nearly 14 million people looking for a job, but few have the skills to fill the four computer engineering openings at Gowalla Inc.
The Austin, Texas-based start-up, which competes with FourSquare Inc. in location-based social networking, hopes to add the programmers to its 27-person staff, but finding applicants with the right skills is a challenge, said Gowalla Chief Executive Josh Williams. “Most people we want are employed somewhere already. We don’t get a lot of applications coming in,” he said.
Overall, companies have slowly begun to hire again. In January, employers added 36,000 jobs, according to the Labor Department. The number of job openings has grown more rapidly. According to the Conference Board Inc., a nonprofit research organization, there were 4.3 million advertised job openings in January, 16% more than a year ago.» read more
